How is it made? Pipe Organs

Mr. Gregory A. Kinat teaches Music to pre-K-8th grade students at Our Lady of Angels, Cleveland OH (https://olangels.org/school/  , and with https://www.trilliummusic.com/gregory-kinat)

He decided that he would mark his first year of teaching OLA students with providing as many learning experiences outside of the school as possible. Kinat’s goal is to teach through hands-on experiences rather than just in a classroom setting. To this end he took Pre-K-4th grade to an onsite field trip to the Church Organ to learn and hear how it is played, he took the 7th grade to The Cleveland Orchestra, and the 8th Grade to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, two global landmarks of music in Cleveland.

His belief is (and we concur) that an integrated approach to music education requires learning outside of the classroom, and an immersion in as much culture pertaining to Music as possible. Such an approach ensures optimal student growth and a deeper appreciation of how music is made and delivered.

In late 2019, he approached our firm inquiring if we would be able to create a hands on science based tour of Leek Pipe Organ Company workshop, for his students as a possible field trip to Leek Pipe Organ Company. We took up the challenge and are excited to present a tour that promises to be fun, educational and impactful. The flier below provides details. Stay wired….. to learn more from the students themselves in our next post….
